Welcome
Who Are We?
EPICENTER GROUP coaches leaders, churches and groups of churches across North America, assisting them in their discovery of God’s excellent future and in strategies for bringing that future to life. Paul Nixon’s 2007 book, I Refuse to Lead a Dying Church was Pilgrim Press’ best selling title that year. I Refuse has provoked a turning point in scores of mainline Christian congregations, and sent Paul all over the US teaching pastor’s conferences and consulting with church leaders. Paul’s 2009 book, Finding Jesus on the Metro, focuses on how congregations can respond faithfully to changing communities and new populations, with very different cultural instincts than most churches.
In recent months Paul has released two new books: We Refused to Lead a Dying Church (15 amazing stories of churches choosing life over death) and now The Surprise Factor (with co author Kim Shockley), a book about the strategy of leading deep change within a long-existing faith community. The Surprise Factor borrows from the playbook of Jesus as leader in the Gospels. All of Paul's books come with downloadable study guides, available on this website.
Paul and the Epicenter team work with scores of congregations and new faith communities each year, as well as offering seminars for leadership development in the skills of multiplying ministry. We have a team that covers the waterfront in terms of skills and specializations - and we commit that if we don't have the coach or consultant that your church needs for the work before you, we will find that person for you!
